“I’m Only Human!”

But I’m only human! Have you heard that expression? Maybe you’ve said it yourself when you’ve made a mistake. I think I have. It’s as if being a flawed human being is what’s normal. If we’re followers of Jesus, that’s not true. Sinning is abnormal. It’s the opposite of God’s loving character. In I Peter 2:11 the apostle Peter says we are aliens and strangers in this sin-filled world. The world God intended us to have is coming, but until then, let’s say we’re more than only human. Let’s be God’s lights in a darkened world.
