What is the gospel? We know about the canonical gospels, three synoptic, Matthew, Mark and Luke, and then the fourth, John. We know they tell of the life of Jesus and his ministry and sacrifice while on this earth, and that the word gospel can be translated “good news.” Jesus preached the good news of the kingdom of God across Judea. He also called his followers to go and do the same throughout the world. But, as one who constantly writes about God and the gospel, I realize, with Christ living within us and us in him, the gospel is not only what we say (or write about), it’s also the life we live.
